Long time gone ...

So it's been a long time since I updated this blog. Oops. But in my defense, there really hasn't been too much going on. Well, I've gotten a few new CDs - which is always exciting. I got: Chris Cagle - Anywhere but Here, Brad Paisley - Time Well Wasted, SHeDaisy - Sweet Right Here, Dierks Bentley - Modern Day Drifter, Gretchen Wilson - All Jacked Up, Lonestar - Coming Home, Keith Anderson - Three Chord Country and American Rock and Roll, Gary Allan - Tough All Over.

Seems like a lot doesn't it? But I LOVE listening to it all ... and picking out what's good, learning the new songs. I was also pleasantly surprised to get the new Nickelback CD last night, too. (See, I don't just listen to country...) But then I checked WNCY's website and found the list of NEW CDs that are coming out in the next few months...The collection grows on.

On Saturday I went to the Meyer Theater for the Little Big Town show. I didn't know too much about them ... but I listened with an open mind. They are fairly young, very skinny - 2 girls and 3 guys. They are all southern ... the blonde with her cutsey squeaky voice surprised me the most. AFTER she finally lost the gum that she'd been chomping ... I noticed that she was an excellent singer. The brunette (Karen) seems to take the lead and it was hard to hear just the blonde (Kim) on her own. All in all it was a good show. My biggest concern was that they all seemed to try to out-do the others. Either turn the amps down ... or tone it down just a bit. When they would all be harmonizing together it was just a little over powering. Enough of the bad ... I might even get their new CD! heehee

Well - Brad is coming to Green Bay. You know - my future husband - Brad Paisley! Thursday night I will be screaming myself hoarse at the Resch Center. Should be fun. =)

This has been my musical review ... haha ... I haven't even touched on the CDs! Would you like to know what I think? Of course you do ...

Chris Cagle - Anwhere but Here
Much antispicated ... only 11 songs. The best on the CD are Miss Me Baby and the title track. Not that the others are bad ... but I was expecting every one of them to just radiate superness and I didn't get that. 3.5 stars out of 5.

Gary Allan - Tough All Over
Feels like it's been a long time waiting on this one, too. I got to see him perform a couple from this CD at the fair over the summer. I would have to give this CD 4.5 stars (out of 5). I have listened to it about 3 times all the way through already. I love it! Just like the other CDs Gary has put out ... it's hard to find a song to skip over. My favorites on this disc are the title track and He Can't Quit Her. I didn't give this a full 5 because again ... I feel skimped (is that a word?) that there are only 12 songs. But 12 awesome songs are better than 18 okay songs.

Brad Paisley - Time Well Wasted
Of course I preordered this CD ... and I was ellated to find out that Walmart had accidentally gotten it to me a day early! Woohoo! I like the CD ... but it's slower than I expected. Perhaps getting hitched has taken the wildness out Brad. I give this CD 4 out of 5 stars. The best songs on this disc are Raining You and Flowers. Though I like his Brad-brand of comedy in Easy Money.

As for the rest of the CDs ... I can't give a thorough analysis just yet. However, I will keep you posted.
